There Is Power In Prayer

“Our prayers can go where we cannot … there are no borders, no prison walls, no doors that are closed to us when we pray.” —Brother Andrew, Founder of Open Doors

Have you ever flippantly told someone, "I'm praying for you..." or "My thoughts and prayers are with you..." but in actuality, it was just a nice thing you told them and didn't follow up with action? Ouch. Unfortunately, I think most people have been there.

In a recent article for Open Doors called, "The Most Dangerous Thing You Can Do," Joshua Pease wrote, "If we truly get what prayer is–and what it does–we’ll realize it’s one of the most powerful weapons for change we have in our arsenal."

WOW, that's so true! Guys, because of what Jesus did for us through his death and resurrection, we have direct access to the Holy Spirit—the very same power that Jesus used when he walked this earth and performed miracles!

Just because we're far away from Christian persecution doesn't mean we can't do anything. Joshua pointed out in his article that heartfelt, active prayer doesn't just have the power to change our world, but also our perspective and our action.
